Mosh in the Mountains 2019

It’s 4am on Friday, June 28th. Techno is blasting from a boombox, someone’s puking in a field, and across the camp people are screaming about banana bread. Welcome to Mosh in the Mountains, Montana’s most wholesome music festival. Photos by Elizabeth Wipperman.

Mosh in the Mountains is a free DIY metal and punk festival put together by Jarad Pheonix and Solomon Steiner. This year’s event took place on June 28th and 29th at the Fawn Creek Campground outside Libby, MT. Acts included Blood and Thunder, Withheld Judgement, along with Missoula locals Low Feet, Powerplant, Trees for Coffins, and Shot Stereo. Despite the large alcohol intake by most event goers, the worst thing that was reported at the event was someone threw away a beer can in the porta-potty (the response to which was a chant of: “fuck that guy”). Check out the gallery to see what you missed this year!
