Improvised and experimental performances at the Dana Gallery as a part of First Night Missoula.

Lakebottom Sound brought many musicians and performers together for showcase at the Dana Gallery in downtown Missoula.

As a part of Freesessions, the event showcased curators and collaborators who have lead previous Freesessions, a collaborative, public improvised jam that happens every month at Imagination Brewing.

The night began with a dance and music performance arranged by Tricia Opstad, utilizing household items to create sound and tension.

Following that, Heidi Junkersfeld’s curated Free System Systema Libre, a collaborative world music project performed three of their arrangements.

Finally, Naomi Seigel’s Missoula Conduction Orchestra did several, 13-person improvisations before wrapping the night up with an open, public improvisation jam.
